2. Many older outboard motors do not offer protection if you were to fall out of your boat by cutting off the engine's ignition
3. This essential device has a lanyard that wraps around your wrist or clips onto your clothing, it stops the engine in case of an accident on the water
4. The switch is open circuit and closed when activated by pulling the lanyard, you can also activate it by simply pressing the red button
5. If you have no spark to your outboard motor's ignition system, it may very well be that your existing kill switch is defective or stuck in the off position and needs to be replaced
